Compacts and Limited Weld Full Size Car Preparation
- All cars must be stock, unless modification is stated below.
- All glass, plastic, chrome and interior must be removed before arriving at derby.
- Station wagons must remove decking.
- Tires no bigger than 15”, no split rims, and no studded tires. Foam or doubled tires are
allowed. Valve stem protectors ok. - Radiator must be stock in stock location.
- All cars must have working brakes.
- Gas tanks must be metal and mounted in back seat area with bolts or chains.
- Transmission Coolers allowed must be mounted in back seat area.
- Battery must be mounted in passenger seat area floorboard.
- Must have number painted on front doors.
- Any American make sedan or station wagon can be run. No 1973 or older Imperials or
Imperial subframes, 4x4, ambulances, hearses, trucks, limousines, etc.
- No welding will be allowed on any part of body or frame unless stated.
- Doors may be welded 5” on, 5” off.
- Driver’s door can be welded solid.
- Driver’s door must be braced no further than 6” front or back of door.
- All cars must have at least a rear seat bar in order to run.
- Dash bars are allowed nothing larger than 3” in diameter.
- Cars may have a 4 point cage.
- Halo bars are allowed must be welded or bolted to the rear seat bar only.
- Any automotive bumper and bracket on car. Can be welded to frame no added metal.
- You can have 2 spots of chain or wire from core support to bumper.
- Hoods must have 12” hole cut for fire protection.
- You can have up to 6 hood bolts. No larger than 3⁄4”
- Core support bolts can go through frame only.
- Trunk lids can be tucked. You can have 2 trunk bolts not larger than 3⁄4” and can go
through top side of frame only. - Trunk may have additional 8 bolts sheet metal to sheet metal only. Nothing larger than
3⁄8”. You weld 5” on, 5” off on trunk lid. - 5x5 washers max on all thread bolts.
- Body mounts can be replaced with 3⁄4” max. No adding extra bolts.
- Suspension must be stock. Leaf springs must be stock, no conversions. No adding
springs, you can chain rear springs with one loop of chain. - Control arms must be stock and not reinforced.
- Can use any passenger rear end.
- Can use any drive train in any car. Motor mounts can be welded. No excess metal.
- No rear end braces.
- Front A-arms must be stock, no bolting, wiring, or chaining down.
- Tie rods, ball joints must be stock. Aftermarket columns are fine.
- Fenders may be trimmed for clearance. Can have 12 3⁄8” bolts.
- Must have windshield bar or chain.
- You may run chain from rail to frame rail behind rear end.
- No distributor protectors allowed.
- Gas tank protectors are allowed must have 1” gap in sheet metal to protector.
- You may run 2 loops of number 9 wire in 2 spots.
- You may repair rusted metal with sheet metal only.
- Pre run cars may have 4 patch plates per frame rail. Must have visible damage. Not
larger than 4x4 (this will be strictly enforced). - You can run any automotive bumper on the car. Bumpers can be reinforced inside of
bumper. - You can weld bumper and brackets to frame. You may run a piece of 3⁄8” plate for
brackets no longer than 14” and no wider than 4”. - Judges decisions are FINAL.
- ABSOULTELEY NO FRAME WELDING EXCEPT WHAT IS SPECIFIED. YOU WILL BE
LOADED THE FIRST PASS THROUGH IF YOU SHOW UP WITH A WELDED FRAME. - ABSOULTELY NO TILTING!!!!!!!!!

- Pure stock class, open to any year, make or model, excluding the following: Imperials, Imperial sub frame cars, checkers, and any hearse type vehicles.
- All glass, chrome,trash, upholstery ( except drivers seat), knobs, handles and other protruding items must be removed from vehicle.
- Battery and gas tank must moved to inside the car and secured properly. The gas tank needs to be in front of the rear axle; single 12V battery and after market or boat fuel tanks. Can use factory gas tank. Battery and gas tank must be covered with fire proof sheild and require all fitting and lines to be leak proof.
- Seat belts are required and should be secured to the frame of the car.
- All vehicles will need a chain, heavy strap, or strong wire and must be run from the
center of the roof to the dash to help prevent entry of the hood into the drivers
compartment. - Breaching of the barrier will be cause for disqualification.
- Minimum age of drivers is 16 years. Waivers will be required from all persons allowed in
non- restricted areas; to include minor waivers signed by parents/guardians. - Helments ( minimum 2000 Snell specifications) required with goggles if no full-face
shield, drivers should wear long pants and long sleeve shirts, with heavy boots that go
over the ankles.( a fire-retardent suit is recommended) - Fenders and bumpers may be trimmed. Bumper shocks can be chained for safety
(loosley) - Late model Aluminum bumpers may be changed but must be from same make (GM/GM,
Ford/Ford). - Floor shift and hand throttle are allowed.
- Fire safety hole in hood is required- minimum square inches of area.
- Front doors may be welded for safety, dash bar and behind seat bar allowed.
- Frames from 1980 and newer may be notched.
- Stock suspension front and rear. OEM rear end and drive line only. No PTO style drive
shafts. - Motor and transmission may be welded or chained in place.
- Hood, trunk, and rear doors may have 2 six inch welds or 6(six) points of contact. Must
pass through or attach sheet metal only. Bolts not to exceed 5⁄8’x4” long with maximum
washer size 2”. Cable and chain maximum is 3⁄8” and 3 wraps of number 9 wire. - Body mounts must be stock. Only the back two body mounts may be removed and
bolted tight. - DOT tires only, Max: LT-15” with 6 ply. Tubes optional. Must meet judges approval.
- Stock size motors only. No built motors. Drive train must be GM/GM Ford/Ford etc.
- Electric fuel pumps must have a red switch within drivers reach.
- Repair welds up to 30” total length (single pass) and must be PRE-Approved by officials.
(Paint weld a bright color after welding) NO PAINT, NO PASS, NO INSPECTION! - If you are driving in the stock class, you may drive any other classes the same night.
- ABSOULTELY NO TILTING!!!!!!!!!
